Aikido for Adults
Our Adult Classes are for people 13 years of age and over, with younger ages being assessed on a case by case basis.
Our classes are focused on teaching self-defence in a modern world, with techniques designed to disable without causing lasting damage.
Competitive arts usually teach combat against a single assailant, with rules and boundaries in place. While often referred to as 'Reality-based', this can often breed a false sense of security among those who practice them. At Redlands Aikido we teach you to deal with opponents coming from any direction, often wielding weapons, in any environment.
Our classes are for Men and Women, Young or Old. Aikdio can be practiced by people of any ability level. As with anything, there are definite advantages to beginning Aikido as early as you can. However, people of all ages practice Aikido all around the world. Unlike many other arts though, the best practitioners tend to be those of advanced years.
If you are interested in starting Aikido, or just have some questions you would like answered, please feel free to contact us, and one of our senior club members will be happy to help you in any way that they can.
